[Week 3] Reflection Inquiry Project September 25th, 2026

If I am being honest, this week’s reflection is not as in depth or insightful as I had hoped it would be, however, I found myself swamped with not only personal matters, but also quite a bit of homework. By this, I mean to say that I do not have much to share about how my inquiry project is going as I only finished my planner 3 days ago and just sent it to my teacher, Collin, yesterday after class. In my planner, I was able to create a breakdown of everything I need and plan to do over the next couple of weeks with this project. The topic I have chosen for my inquiry project is Health and Wellness, and in that very broad realm, I have decided to make a goal that I am going to focus on improved personal well-being by learning how to cook healthier meals and do some sort of physical activity at least 3 times a week. For my planner, I have researched to find simple, budget friendly recipes that I can realistically cook for myself, and I have determined by that my primary physical activity will be dance. As part of that process, I have looked at resources to determine what comprises a healthy meal and how and why that is important for health and wellness.

The reason I chose this specific goal for myself was because over the last several weeks,  I have been eating straight carbs for dinner such as pasta, which has caused me to have stomach issues and feel bloated. Last year I lived in Residence and was able to go to the Cove for all of my meals so I did not have to worry about making meals. Before that, I lived at home where all of my meals were prepared for me. I believe that part of my lack of motivation to devote the time and energy into preparing more nutritionally balanced meals comes from the fact that I am not currently doing any physical activity. Throughout my elementary and high school years, I danced 5-6 days a week with hour long training, but since coming to university, I have not pursued any physical activity with any regularity.

I am committed to changing my eating habits and increasing my physical activity levels as I truly believe that it will dramatically improve my overall energy, well-being and motivation. Now that I have identified a clear path and have created my planner, my goal for next week is to begin executing my plan by cooking one healthy dinner meal and participating in at least one dance class. I want to set realistic goals, which means starting off slowly rather than rushing into it and potentially not being able to follow through with my goal. That is it for my blog today, but stay tuned for my next update on October 2nd!
